Búðir Church on Snæfellsnes peninsual in Iceland

Enjoy Snæfellsnes on a whole day tour filled with amazing scenery, local culture and activities to suit everyone's taste.

Simply driving around the volcanic peninsula promises a day filled with new sights, experiences, and flavors, tailored to everyone's capabilities and interests. Our guides are experts, and Snæfellsnes is a favorite destination for us all, so the following itinerary is just the framework—let your guide surprise you with the details.

We start our day early in Reykjavik and drive west through the very heart of Viking stories in Borgarnes, paying tribute to the Game of Thrones-like character Egill Skallagrimsson, one of the most colorful personalities in all of the Icelandic Sagas. Passing by the volcanic crater Eldborg on one side and the moon-like landscape on the other, our first stop is Gerduberg, a seemingly endless wall of giant hexagonal basalt columns that rise up to 14 meters from a flat plain.

From there, we head to Budir to take a break, making selected stops along the way as we pass by seal colonies, lava fields, waterfalls, and stunning gorges. Next up are Arnarstapi, Hellnar, and Londrangar, with their seaside cliffs, blowholes, and otherworldly rock formations—sculpted by volcanoes, glaciers, and the powerful North Atlantic Ocean.

On the north side of the peninsula, our journey takes us through small fishing villages that offer an authentic glimpse into the lives of those who work the land and sea. Our next must-see is Mt. Kirkjufell and Kirkjufellsfoss—a mountain and waterfall duo renowned as one of the most picturesque spots in all of Iceland.

We close the circle with some carefully selected stops on our return, aiming to arrive back in Reykjavik just before dinner time, completing an eventful day on this magnificent peninsula.
